Bi-Annual HGA Memvership meeting

HGA will hold its bi-annual membership meeting at 11AM on Saturday, December 6 in the train station museum. Members and anyone else interested in finding out what HGA has accomplished this past year are welcome to attend. Plans fr the future will also be discussed. Come join us and support this great local historic association.

Christmas at the Train Station

HGA proudly presents their two annual events during the holiday season. The train station museum and first fire house will be open on Saturday, December 6 from Noon to 2 PM and Saturday, December 20 from 5-7PM. Santa will be there to take requests from the children and a special mailbox will be in place for children to write their letters to Santa. There will be gift packs for the children and visitors of all ages can enjoy the festive atmosphere, Christmas music, light refreshments, model trains, and museum displays. On the 20th a light buffet will be available. Admission is free, so come enjoy part of this holy season with the folks at Historic Georgetown Association.

4th Annual Car Show

HGA will hold its 4th Annual Car Show on Saturday, September 13 from 9 AM to 2 PM. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the cars, trucks, museum tours and more. Troop 95 Scouts will be selling breakfast and items so stop by.

Summer Open Houses

Historic Georgetown Association begins its Summer 2025 Open Houses for the Train Station and Georgetown's First Fire House on Saturday, May 3 from Noon to 2 PM. In addition to May 3, there will be open houses on the following dates: Saturday, June 7 Noon to 2 PM Saturday July 11 Noon to 2 PM Saturday August 2 Noon to 2 PM Come join us for free self guided tours of these historic buildings. Light refreshments will be available and admission is free. Weather permitting, there will be free rides on Lil Toot and the HGA Express. All are welcome.

First Responders Car Show

HGA, in cooperation with County Seat Cruisers, will have a special car show recognizing First Responders on Saturday, April 5 from 9 AM to 2 PM with a rain date of Saturday, April 12. Donations will be given to Station 77 Firefighters of Georgetown and American Legion Post 8. Troop 95 Boy Scouts will be selling light breakfast and lunch refreshments as part of their fund raising efforts. Fee to enter a vehicle is $15 and trophies will be awarded around 1 PM. Sponsors for the event are Indian River Land Company, El Mercado Market, and Karl Haller. No admission fee and all are welcome.

Welcome Eric Pepper

HGA welcomes new board member Eric Pepper of Georgetown. A lifelong resident, Eric retired as a K-9 Handler for the Delaware Department of Corrections after 29.5 years of service. He has been a member of the Georgetown Fire Company since 1989 and was married for 27 years to the late Catherine Pepper.
